When we think of Shibuya, what instantly comes to mind is the intersection of Shibuya Station. The discipline reigns here in 8 directions. This crossroads which would be anarchic in most cities of the world. Shibuya Station is also famous for the statue of Hachikō, Akita who was waiting for his master every day at the station, even after the death of the latter.
Lorsque l'on pense à Shibuya, l'image qui vient instantanément à l'esprit est le carrefour de Shibuya Station. La discipline règne dans 8 directions dans ce carrefour qui serait anarchique dans la plupart des villes du monde. Shibuya Station est aussi fameux pour la statue de Hachikō, cet Akita qui attendait son maître tous les jours à la gare, même après la mort de ce dernier.

The heart of Shibuya is commercial, lively, populated, modern, bright. A postcard of Tokyo in itself. But walking a little brought you to a temple or under a typical constructions ... one will be surprised even to walk alone on big car avenues, as soon as the flow of the vehicles is interrupted by the traffic lights.
Le coeur de Shibuya est commerçant, animé, peuplé, moderne, lumineux. Une carte postale de Tokyo en soit, et pourtant on trouvera ici un temple, ailleurs des constructions typiques... on se surprendra même à se balader seul sur certaines artères sitôt le flot des véhicules interrompu par le rythme des feux tricolores.
The eccentric Japan is however never very far, either on Takeshita street, frequenting bars with owls (!) ...
Le japon excentrique n'est cependant jamais très loin, que ce soit sur la rue Takeshita, en fréquentant des bars à chouettes ( ! ) ...
... or in the trendy Daikanyama neighborhood. This one, rather calm and resting to settle in intellectual coffee in the evening, becomes, the week-end, the place to be seen buying bonzaïs and overpriced kimonos or to walk his racy dog freshly groomed.
... ou dans le quartier très branché de Daikanyama. Celui-ci, plutôt calme et reposant pour s'installer dans café intello le soir, devient, le week-end, l'endroit pour être vu s'achetant bonzaïs et kimonos hors de prix ou encore promener son chien racé fraîchement toiletté.
South of Daikanyama, we leave Shibuya for Meguro. Here again, rather quiet in the evening, animated by a few boutiques and fine shops, the district is populated in the spring to celebrate Hanami. The place is indeed perfect to enjoy, in a popular atmosphere, the blossoming of the first cherry blossoms with a glass of wine decorated with cotton candy, or chocolate chips (!).
Au sud de Daikanyama, on quitte Shibuya pour Meguro. Là encore, plutôt tranquille en soirée, animé juste par quelques boutiques et échoppes raffinées, le quartier se peuple au printemps pour célébrer Hanami. L'endroit est en effet parfait pour profiter, dans une ambiance populaire, de l'éclosion des premières fleurs de cerisier avec un verre de vin agrémenté de barbe à papa ou avec des frites au chocolat ( ! ).
